Scale your freelance writing business and focus on the work you love

Get the help you need without having to step in and do it yourself with the Freelance Writing Subcontracting Bundle.

As a freelance writer, you’re a one-person band

When you’ve got too much to do, there’s only one person who can make it happen: you.

You want to say yes to new projects, grow the business, and free yourself from more routine work so you can focus on other ventures. There are days when there’s so much on your plate you want to scream, but when you think about hiring subcontractors to help, you freeze up.

It’s intimidating to think about because you have so many questions, like:
  • How do I get started?
  • How long will it take to get a writer onboarded?
  • What if the quality isn’t up to my standards?
  • How do I get someone up to speed on exactly what my clients want?
The problem isn’t the idea of getting help—it’s knowing how to hire someone who will seamlessly blend into your workflow and support the growth of your freelance writing business.

That’s why I created the Freelance Writing Subcontracting Template Bundle. This Bundle includes six of my go-to resources + never-before-shared tips on how to successfully manage subcontractor relationships.

Subcontracting gives you freedom to do the work you love

When there’s too much work to do, it’s impossible to focus on the big picture

  • Maybe you want to grow your freelance writing business by offering digital products or to stop working weekends.
  • Maybe you started your freelance business to have more flexibility, but you feel so burdened by your obligations that you can’t ever take a few days off.
  • You can’t remember the last time you had a *real* vacation.

Yes, your clients hire you for your expertise, but that doesn’t mean everything needs to be done by you. Even folks with full-time jobs have a bit of coverage, you know?

By subcontracting work to more junior writers, you’ll be able to outsource time-consuming tasks so you can focus on the big picture of life and business. And to ensure the work meets your very high standards, you’ll always be there as an editor who gets the final say and to make sure things are up to snuff before sending it along to a client.

Why subcontract?

Subcontracting is a win-win situation. You get support in your business while your subcontractors stay busy with writing work, getting professional guidance and hands-on experience along the way.

Hiring Subcontractors

📈  Allows you to scale up your service-based business and earn more money without overworking or burning out.

Gives you time to focus on other business ventures such as building your pipeline, nurturing client relationships, and creating new products or services.

⚡  Speeds up assignment execution as a subcontractor helps with researching, outlining, and writing.

🤒  Provides coverage and an outlet for overflow work for days when life happens (like if you’re too sick to work, your childcare falls through, your car breaks down, or you’re overloaded with projects.)

🙌  Gives you the opportunity to share your expertise by supporting and educating early-stage writers trying to find their footing in the freelance world.

👩‍🏫  Helps you fine-tune teaching and training skills, which can then be leveraged for paid coaching or training sessions.

😎  Hiring help will save your sanity and give you the freedom to live the freelance life you’ve always dreamed about.

  • I’ve tried to hire subcontractors before and it was a mess. If I do it again, I need a plan.

Get a clear path away from burnout and overworking. Want to keep saying yes to gigs without overloading yourself? Share the wealth and grow your business by hiring writers who have some extra time.

Who made these?

Me! Kaleigh Moore 👋

I’m a freelance writer specializing in writing blog content for SaaS and eCommerce companies. I also offer coaching services to freelance writers and contribute to publications like Forbes, Vogue Business, and others.

When I first started freelancing ten years ago, I did everything on my own. As the business grew, I found myself overbooked and therefore overwhelmed. To cope, I worked longer hours and neglected my health. The result? A pile of stress. One time, I even got stress-induced shingles.

I also have a health condition that occasionally makes it hard to work. When I’m under the weather, I’m unable to handle my full workload. For many years, I had no backup. As someone who prides herself in always meeting deadlines, this put me in a tricky situation: I had to keep working (making myself sicker) or let my clients down. It was a lose-lose.

I knew subcontractors could help, as I started my own freelance writing career as someone’s apprentice/subcontractor. In 2018 I began hiring occasional subcontractors of my own, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing. At the start, I struggled to successfully onboard them and seamlessly integrate them into my business.

Today, offloading parts of overflow projects to subcontractors has revolutionized my business, and it's thanks to the resources in the Freelance Writing Subcontracting Bundle. Not only do I now have go-to subcontractors that can cover for me during emergencies, but I’ve also gained more time to focus on growing my business. With this bundle, this can be a reality for you, too.

A subcontracting strategy that works

“I reached a point in my business where I needed to look for outside help, and this subcontractor bundle helped me do it strategically! This resource is a MUST for any freelancer trying to navigate the waters of subcontracting. It has everything you need to get started and then some. From email templates to contract specifics, this bundle will help you start on the right foot. I could not recommend it more.” -Kat Ambrose

A huge time-saver!

“Kaleigh provided a set of go-to ground rules to make sure any subcontracting relationship is legal, well-defined, and set up for success. This bundle was a huge time-saver as I hired subcontractors and made sure those relationships were legal and productive from day one. The contract templates prevent costly and awkward misunderstandings, and my new writers can simply read the onboarding guide to get up to speed so I don't need to explain everything in meetings and emails. These resources are pure utility, tried and tested, and allowed me to skip past all the trial and error." -Natalie Arbor

Critical tips I never even thought of

“This bundle of subcontractor templates and materials is incredibly helpful! It put everything I needed to hire and manage writers in one place and so thoughtfully written and designed. It also included some content I otherwise wouldn't have known (or known how) to include for my writers. For anyone hiring subcontracting writers — for themselves or a company — I'd highly recommend this bundle!" -Allie Decker

Overwhelmed to Empowered

“When my business was ready to expand, these resources took me from completely overwhelmed to a smooth onboarding process. It provided information on things I hadn't even considered before. It was beyond helpful to have all of these resources as I built my own subcontractor process, saving me so much time and energy!" -Courtney Westlake

What about...

I’ve tried hiring subcontractors before, but it didn’t work out!

Yep, I hear you. So many freelance writers tell me that they’ve tried to subcontract but it didn’t work out. They were bogged down by the process of getting the subcontractor up to speed. Then, if the subcontractor flaked, they had to do it all over again with someone else. Others have told me about having to spend substantial time revising after subcontractors botched the job. The Freelance Writer Subcontractor Bundle solves all of that by providing onboarding materials and comprehensive writing briefs, ensuring that subcontracting actually WORKS this time around.

No one can write like ME

It’s true–no one can write like you. That’s why you have a successful freelance writing business. However, a good subcontractor can write something that’s pretty close. You’ll be able to take whatever they write, revise it a bit, and then send along to the client. As you develop a relationship with the subcontractor, they’ll get better and better at mirroring your style and approach. My Freelance Writer Subcontractor Bundle makes it easy to get subcontractors up to speed so they can write like you from the start.

It's going to take way too much time to hire help

And that’s time you don’t have, right? While it does take a bit of time to onboard a subcontractor, the Freelance Writing Subcontracting Bundle makes the process much faster. It also makes it easy to hire a second, third, and fourth subcontractor as your business grows. Plus, once you’ve successfully onboarded someone, the time you save will be much more than the time you put in. Putting in a little time now will pay dividends in the future.

My Promise - This is a Great Value.

Sure, you could try to create these materials yourself or spend thousands on a course that you’re not sure will give you the tools you need to execute this well.

You WILL make your investment back if you implement these templates in your freelance business (and FAST!)

You’ll easily make your money back by:
  • Launching a new digital product such as a course or kit and making 1-3 sales
  • Booking one project you would’ve turned down in the past
  • Hosting a paid, virtual event and getting 10 attendees to pay a $99 ticket price
